Service Description

502 Learn to Play the Mountain Dulcimer, Session #7 Instructor Janet Nieburg Learn to play America’s folk instrument the Mountain Dulcimer, Session 7. This will be a continuation of Session 6, during which students became more fluent in chording, playing backup, playing in “chord melody” style, and playing in multiple parts. Playing in multiple parts is fun and makes it possible to accommodate players of different abilities. Session 7 will be about developing further the skills learned in Sessions 1-6 and having more fun with this lovely instrument. Students will be introduced to jamming with the dulcimer. If you have some experience playing the mountain dulcimer and consider yourself slightly more than a beginner, you could join this class without having taken Sessions 1-6. Please indicate on the registration form if you need a loaner dulcimer. The class limit is 10 students. Four Wednesdays October 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon Location: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Church St. , Montrose Fee: $20.00
