The Adult School is always looking for new instructors and new ideas for community classes. If you would like to share your talent, knowledge, skill, or just enjoy teaching; we would be happy to have you. Please fill out a Teaching Proposal form. You do not need to have every detail finalized - we’ll be happy to work with you if your proposal is a good fit for an upcoming semester.

Instructors are paid $25.00 per class session (90 minutes to 2 hours) with a minimum of 6 students registering or they may donate their time, if they wish.

Spring Class Proposals are due January 5th. Classes are suggested to begin in late February depending on weather conditions. For example: Pruning classes are usually held in late winter. Classes should end in early June.

Fall Class Proposals are due July 25th.  Classes are suggested to begin September 1st through early Dec.    

The Adult School tries to maintain an Advisory Board of 16 people, 14 of which carry the responsibility of program officers (aka assistants) for each of the 7 program areas. In other words; two people co-chair each of the following:

• Arts and Crafts,

• Sports, Fitness and Health,

• Nature and Country Living,

• Food and Drink,

• Helpful Information,

• History and Culture, and

• Trips and Tours.

We currently need additional board members. This is a voluntary position. The duties are:

1. Find instructors who would like to conduct classes through the Adult School.

2. Attend 2 annual meetings and provide ideas, feedback on classes, advice and support.

3. Assisting instructors under their program area.
