This class is designed for watercolor painters at all levels from beginners to seasoned painters. Individuals will receive instruction as needed and will have time to work on their own paintings. 103 Knit a Hat Instructor Bruce Baessler

Learn to knit a hat in the round using circular needles. You will learn casting on, joining in the round, following a pattern, then decreasing to finish the hat. Knowledge of basic knit and purl stitches is required. Yarns and needles will be provided at no cost.

104 Make a Mondo Bag Instructor Jayne Stoll

You will Learn to create a useful bag called a Mondo Bag . This project is a stash buster. You will be sewing squares of fabric to a fusible grid that you will shape into a bag. A sewing machine is necessary. The material list will be sent to you upon registration. The class limit is 10 students.

105 Advanced Zentangle, Black Tiles Instructor Alice Roche

Students will need prior basic Zentangle experience for this class. This class will include the tools/tiles needed for creating tangles on black tiles and learning new tangles. The class limit is 10 students.

106 Fabric Painting Instructor Mary Jo Garrity

In this class we will be using Acrylic Inks & Textile Paint. You will be creating your own stamps & stencils. I’ll teach different styles of fabric painting such as Sabori & Rouching to create beautiful textures. The fabrics you make can be used in quilting or a base for embroidery. Embellishing your final pieces will be up to you. Embossing &/or Mica powders will truly make your fabric pop!! Join me for a great time creating, no experience required!!

107 Traditional Rug Hooking Instructors: Susan Riley and Pat Cluck

In this class we will be creating a small mat or wall hanging, approximately 12” by 12”, using the traditional method of rug hooking. Rug hooking is both an art and a craft where rugs are made by using a rug hook to pull loops of yarn or fabric strips (usually wool) through a stiff woven base such as burlap, linen, or rug warp. Handouts, Tools and Materials will be provided: Tools: Rug hook, and a rug hooking frame or hoop . Materials: The backing fabric of Linen, and either Yarn or Wool strips (already cut). The students are to bring their own sharp scissors. The class size is a minimum of 5 students and maximum of 8 students.

108 Sewing Machine Basics Instructor Anne Butler This class is full

This class will explore normal maintenance of your sewing machine. We will cover.

1. Bobbin race disassembly, cleaning and reassembly,

2.Tension adjustment

3 .Changing the needle

4. Survey of different feet and changing feet (if appropriate for the machine)

Once the basic machine maintenance is finished and the machine is sewing correctly, we will make a small sewing project (bag) to exercise different stitches on the machine: Straight stitch, Zig Zag stitch, Hem stitch, Buttonhole stitch

The instructor will provide all materials for the project. Students should bring: A sewing machine with all attachments especially:

    Feet – for zig zag (usually a foot with a wide hole), buttonholer

    Cleaning tools – brush, screwdrivers for plate removal

    Sewing machine manual, Extra Bobbins, Extension cord or power strip

    Scissors – sharp embroidery scissors are ideal for buttonhole cutting

109 Make a Basic Round Rope Basket Instructor Sandra DeLousia

Learn how to wrap fabric around rope and stitch it together to make a basket. The basket will be 4 1/2” at base, 2” high and 7” top diameter. You will need a sewing machine that can do zigzag stitch. Bring basic sewing supplies, scissors,

pins, a light and dark thread or a colored variegated thread or color if your

choice. Rope and fabric will be provided. The class limit is 10 students

111 Introduction to Spinning Wool into Yarn Instructor Jeanette Smith This class is full

This is an introduction to the use of a spinning wheel. I will be presenting a few different

types of wool which are easiest to spin. We will be using a blending board to customize

colors. We will be carding and washing raw wool also. Because of the limited supply of

spinning wheels available, the class will be limited to four students.

This glass painting class is offered by Anita Martin from Classy Glass by Anita. Participants will learn to paint a cherry blossom design on either a vase or two stemless wine

glasses. No experience is necessary. The instructor will walk you through all the steps

to create a beautiful vase or set of stemless wine glasses. Please indicate on your

registration your choice of a vase or wine glasses.

Stitch a lovely floral centerpiece. This class is -a beginner friendly class. We will learn to cut, piece, quilt and bind this wall hanging/ center piece. A material list will be sent before the first class. You do need a sewing machine and general knowledge of how to use it. Bring any rulers, cutting mats, rotary cutter and sewing supplies. The item you will make is 281/2 inches by 281/2 inches.

114 Learn to Knit Continental Style   Instructor Sharyn Powers This class is full

Whether you are a seasoned “English” style knitter or are new to knitting you will want to learn the “Continental” style of knitting. Many knitters find the Continental style of knitting to be faster and more efficient than English knitting with less stress on your

hands and wrists. Continental style involves learning to knit by holding the working yarn in your left hand instead of your right hand. Learn both the knit and purl stitches and how to apply Continental knitting to a variety of techniques. The class limit is 6

students.

115 Intermediate Embroidery ( Brazilian and Ribbon Embroidery) Instructor Mary Jo Garrity This class has been Canceled.

 Experience is required for this class. You must have either taken an intro Embroidery class or have mastered most of the basic stitches. We will be using a majority of them with Ribbon. We will transform the stitching into a 3- dimensional style in free form. If you love creating with fibers and are up for a challenge this is perfect for you!! This is a great follow-up from making your own fabric from the painting Fabric class. I look forward to teaching you a new way of creating! Thread, Ribbon & Fabric are provided. You must bring a Hoop & Stand.
