History and Culture Fall 2025

501 Those Crazy Greek Gods    Instructor Anne Armezzani

Remember lessons in mythology from school?  Let’s see how much you remember.

We’ll keep it fun as we review Zeus, Hercules, Venus, and their fellow gods and goddesses from Greek, Rome and Nordic lands. So many of the happenings on Mount Olympus became part of our language and culture. Life was never dull for these celestial beings! Come share stories of their heroic deeds (and, just as often, their unbelievable misdeeds.)

They have been introduced to simple chording for accompaniment to singing or other dulcimer players and instrumentalists playing melody. They have been introduced to playing the dulcimer in what dulcimer players call “chord melody style.” Session 4 will be about developing further the skills learned in Sessions 1, 2, and 3.
