Does your sewing machine need a new outfit? Sewing machine covers help to keep our machines protected from dust and exposure while not in use. There will also be time to make a non-skid foot pedal pad. These quick and easy projects will be finished in class and bring some beauty to your sewing space. Sewing machine and basic sewing equipment are needed. Supply list will be provided upon registration. The class limit is 10 students

102 Watercolor Journal Class Instructor Jean Ely Grube
Watercolor Journal class is for beginning painters and seasoned painters alike. Class members will paint and sketch in their own journal each week. Lessons include demonstrations on pattern, rule-of-thirds, watercolor painting techniques, journaling and some mixed media techniques. Classes will start with a single demonstration from a variety of watercolor techniques. Most classes will include inspirational quotes or messages that can be incorporated into the journal. After an introductory lesson and demonstration, students will paint in their own journal through the remainder of class. Each student will purchase a ring bound watercolor book for approximately $10

104 Knitting, The Next Steps Instructor: Sharyn Powers
This class is designed for students who are already familiar with knitting and purl stitches and are ready to take their skills further. Participants will practice a variety of essential knitting techniques, including casting on, binding off, increasing and decreasing stitches, working in rows and rounds, and how to read a knitting pattern. These foundational skills will prepare each student to begin their own knitted project with confidence.

No art experience is necessary for this course. Discover the world of Zentangle and create beautiful and surprising art with structured patterns called tangles. This is a drawing method that inspires creativity, it is relaxing and fun, and the results are unplanned and rewarding, reminding us: Anything is possible…One stroke at a time.” We will review basic Zentangle methods and learn new tangles at each class. 106 The Lost Art of Quilling Instructor Alice Roche, craftsperson
Quilling is the art of rolling, shaping, and gluing strips of paper to create decorative designs, also known as paper filigree, used for cards, jewelry, and wall art. We use the slotted tool to make basic shapes – coils, teardrops, leaves and combine them to form intricate patterns, flowers, and other embellishments. The class limit is 12 students. High school students are welcome to attend this class with a parent. The quilling kit includes your quilling tool, mat, pins, glue and quilling paper. If you bring your quilling tools from prior classes/kits the material fee is $3.00

Join us to learn the beginner-friendly and calming hobby of hand knitting! Participants do not need previous knitting experience and will leave the class knowing the basic knit stitch or exploring other stitch patterns to start their own beautiful chunky knit blanket. These blankets can be completed in a short period of time and make great gifts (or to keep for yourself!). Be prepared for a relaxing and safe learning environment open to all abilities. 113 Leaf Bleached T-Shirt Instructor Peg Miller
Create a magical and individually custom cotton t-shirt, apron or tote bag using leaves from nature as a design element. It is easy enough for all to do and is only limited by your imagination. Craft involves dipping or painting leaves with a bleach mixture and applying for design in your own way. Plastic gloves, safety glasses and aprons will be provided, but wearing ‘work’ clothes in case of splashes is a safe bet. Choose from a T-shirt, apron or tote bag or bring your own item to decorate.

114 Free-form Curved Piecing Instructor Barbara Merritt
Free-form curved piecing is a simple and fun technique that lends itself to the creation of organic, natural looking backgrounds, landscape quilts, or simple contemporary pieced blocks. It does not require a pattern or any specialized tools – just your sewing machine, rotary cutter and mat, and your imagination. In this class we will learn about the selection of fabrics, designing pleasing compositions, dynamically factoring in seam allowances, and tips and tricks for smooth freehand curved piecing. A list of supplies and fabric requirements will be provided to registered participants. The class is limited to 12 students.
