159 Drumming Instructor: Berneice Brownell, drummer

This class is an introduction to an experience created around rhythm and the sound of the drum. Drumming is a healthy and fun activity that can be enjoyed in a group setting together with drummers of all levels. This is the perfect class for anyone interested in participating in a drum circle. Hand drums and percussion will be the instruments used in this class. Some drums will be available; however, if you have a drum that may be waiting to be heard please bring it to the class. Indicate on your registration form if you have a drum. Class limit: 8

Three Saturdays, September 25, October 1 and October 8 from 10:30 to noon

Location: Clifford Township Municipal Building (aka Community Center)

160 Cross County Ski Instructors: Kirk Newsome, PSIA Telemark and Alpine; Deb McNamara, PSIA, XCtry and Alpine

It didn’t work last year; no snow! We are trying again. Consider X-Country Ski as a beginner or take yourself to the next level. We will be using trails in the Union Dale area. For the first session meet at the Rail to Trail office in Union Dale for orientation and then onto our first ski on the Trail. Bring your own equipment if possible; a few rentals will be available. It goes without saying ‘classes will be dependent on sufficient natural snow.’ We look forward hopefully to a favorable winter season to present this enjoyable winter sport.

Two Saturdays, January 14 and January 21.

Location: Initial meeting is at the Rail to Trail office in Union Dale

161 Scrapbooking Instructor: Lora Wright, experienced crafter

Do you have photos in boxes, in drawers, in attic storage? Let Lora teach you how to preserve them into lasting memories to enjoy. If you are a beginner or experienced scrapbooker, this class can help provide new and creative ways to preserve those special memories.

Three Tuesdays beginning September 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Location: Clifford Township Community Center

Fee: $15.00 plus a materials fee of $10.00 paid directly to the instructor

 

162 Card Making Instructor: Lora Wright, experienced crafter

Would you like to learn how to make your own handmade cards? This class will teach you how to create messages for birthdays, weddings or holidays in your own special design. Enjoy an evening of creating and sharing….and you will be pleasantly surprised at what you can create.

Three Tuesdays beginning October 4 at 6:30 p.m.

163 Introduction to Essential Oils Instructor: Jill Weida, certified Aromatherapist

Learn about unique benefits of Young Living therapeutic grade essential oils and practical applications to support your immune system. Smell, apply and taste 10 of the most versatile essential oils that can be used every day to enhance your lifestyle and the well being of your family. We will be focusing on making a chemical free all-purpose cleaner and a linen spray.

Two Tuesdays, September 20 and 27 at a) 10:30 a.m. or b) Two Thursdays , September 22 and 29 at 6:30 p.m. Indicate on your registration form which session you are attending.

164 Yoga for Life Instructor: Tiffany Debish, Studio Be

Please join Yoga for Life as a beginner or a continuing student. We will continue to focus on essentials of yoga breathing, flexibility and strength and body alignment. There will also be a focus on integrating breath with movement to be aware of listening to your body. Student should bring a yoga mat, blanket or large towel and water. Dress should be comfortable clothing that permits easy movement.

Eight sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays beginning September 13 at 9:00 a.m.

165 Quilting Instructor: Catherine Wallace, quilter

Enjoy the comfort and warmth of the Patch of Heaven quilting studio in the instructor’s home near Thompson. This fall we will be working with squares and triangles to make traditional or modern quilts. We will also learn to make a tee-shirt quilt. A list of supplies will be provided by the instructor. Come and enjoy the pleasures of quilting with a group of friendly women quilters.

Six Thursdays beginning September 15 at 1:00 p.m.
